Why do I need to get a Pesticide Applicators License or Certificate?
- If you want to purchase or apply California or Federally restricted use pesticides
How do I go about getting the proper license for the work I want to conduct in California?
Step 1: Apply to take the Dept of Pesticide Regulation State Pesticide Applicators Exams.
- Look at the Exam Schedule and pick a location and date that you would like to take your exams, make sure the final filing date has not expired (filing date is approximately 30 days prior to exam date) for the exam date and location that you want.
- Download the exam application from this website and print it out, it must be completed by hand and sent via US Mail with the exam fees before the final filing date ends.
Step 2: Prepare yourself to pass the exams, “GET ON THE FAST TRACK” with P&L Marketing, EXAM PREP CLASSES or SELF STUDY MATERIALS.
- Choice 1: Do you like to learn by yourself? Some people do not have the time to go to even a one day class. Solution: Purchase the “Fast Track Workbooks” or “Interactive Workbooks on CD”, we recommend you purchase them as soon as you mail in your exam application.
- Choice 2: Do you perfer to learn in a classroom setting? Some people can’t make themselves concentrate or set aside the time to study on their own, or they just retain information better that is presented by a live instructor with the the ability to ask questions
Solution: Register for a one day exam prep class, near your exam date (check our class schedule)
